AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer in the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds amid strict Israeli security measures at its gates.
al-Quds sources estimated that 30,000 worshipers performed Friday prayer in Al-Aqsa courtyards.
The Israeli police were deployed at checkpoints since the morning hours throughout the occupied city, to secure the so-called “al-Quds Marathon 2022” organized by the Israeli municipality.
The Israeli police were also deployed at the entrances to Al-Aqsa and the Old City and checked the ID cards of the Palestinians.
Friday sermon
During the Friday sermon, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ismail Nawahda called for intensifying Palestinian presence at al-Aqsa.
Nawahda also stressed the religious importance of the holy site in the hearts of Muslims.
He also pointed out that the land of Palestine is a holy land whose responsibility is shared by all Muslims around the world.
